2011 Soccer Media Guide II

The IMG Soccer Academy provides youth soccer participants with superior coaching staff, state-of-the-art player development programs and the best training facilities in the country.  Since the Academy opened in 1994 we have placed 24 players on U.S. National Teams, 11 players on professional club teams, won 2 Dallas Cup Tournaments (05, 07), 5 Tampa Sun Bowl Tournaments, and 14 CDL League Titles (FYSA).  Our nine-month residency program hosts boys (age 12-19) of all levels where players attend private school and train year-round.  

The IMG Soccer Club continues to set itself apart from other clubs by providing players with all the necessary resources to reach his or her potential.

  • Train five days a week
    Including technical, tactical, specialized goalkeeping, mental, and performance trainings.
  • World-class facilities
    Train on our new soccer complex with 13 Bermuda manicured grass soccer fields year-round, professionally maintained with strength and conditioning facilities, girls and boys full sized locker rooms and bathrooms plus two strategy video classrooms.
  • Compete in highly competitive leagues (weekends)
    CDL League (FYSA) and U.S. Academy Development League (USSF)
  • Appear in tournaments domestically and internationally
    IMG Cup, IMG College Showcase, Dallas Cup, Orange Classic, Dallas Sports Source, CDL National, US Club State Club, Nike Tournament and Disney Tournaments
  • The most experienced and highly certified coaching staff in the country
    USSF “A” License, Coaches’ with national, professional, collegiate and regional ODP coaching expertise  
  • Participate in USL Player Development League (PDL)
    The IMG Bradenton Academics participate in the Premier Development League (PDL) of the United Soccer Leagues.  The team consists primarily of alumni from the IMG Soccer Academy and is coached by IMG Soccer Academy Director, Scott Dean.  The Academics serve as a continuing commitment to the development of IMG Soccer Academy players after the completion of their high school career.   The Academics are a member of the 10+ Club in USL Hall of Fame. This Club consists of Franchises that have survived for at least 10 years.
  • Offers twelve weeks of summer camps for boys (Age 10-19)
    Four sessions of 3-week series programs are our most recommended and popular soccer camp program through the summer. They are the top developmental soccer camps for serious players wanting to develop their game, receive serious developmental training and experience the next level of a soccer experience. Experience the full residency program and taste the benefits to world-class coaching and environment.
  • Hosts professional and college teams for training and competition
    Various U.S. & Foreign National Teams, multiple Major League Soccer (MLS) teams and several top 20 collegiate teams. Additionally we host US Soccer coaching license events, United Soccer League (USL) events and Olympic Development Program (ODP) events and training.

The IMG Soccer Academy has designed a rigorous and highly reputable training schedule for every soccer player to participate and gain competitive advantage.  This well-rounded curriculum creates a positive environment for all players to achieve success on the field, in the classroom, and in their personal lives.

  • IMG Pendleton School
    All IMG Soccer Academy student-athletes will attend IMG Pendleton School on campus. New for 2011-2012 Academy Program, our boys residency program will attend soccer training in the morning and school in the afternoon.
  • Provide Leadership
    Coaching staffs will communicate a clear vision for individual players and teams with expectations and objectives to achieve through the year. Providing a clear line of vision will focus players to problem solve, incentivize and receive recognition to plan for the future.
  • Performance Training & Management
    Covering all aspects of movement, including speed, agility, quickness, strength, power, and endurance are addressed on a daily basis. Delivered by IPI professionals and staff coaches, we will mentor your improvement through the year and set clear goals and expectations. With immediate feedback and relevant metrics through Combine360 players will experience fitness like nowhere else. Additionally video analysis on your training, performance and games will be used to educate, refine and develop your game.
  • Performance Electives
    Every student attending IMG Pendleton will receive one elective per semester as part of their overall tuition toward THE TOTAL STUDENT-ATHLETE program.
  • Mental Conditioning
    Geared toward enhancing continuous psychological improvement.  Personal awareness, self-confidence, motivation, discipline, and self-esteem are used as tools to increase effectiveness in pressure situations.
  • Nutrition Assessment
    Instruct and provide every athlete with proper nutrition to meet daily demands of academics, training, and top performance.
  • College Placement Program
    Inform and assist with every athlete’s desire to attain advanced education and play soccer at the highest level.
  • Communication by game on
    Helps all athletes improve social skills, interaction with adult coaches and college interviews.  These life skills are invaluable in developing the proper balance as an athlete and as a person.
