The ultimate measure of an athlete's ability and potential

Perfection is a myth.

You can always find ways to better yourself, as improvement has no barriers. To maximize your potential, though, you need to know your strengths, weaknesses and how to establish a specific plan to reach your peak as an athlete.

Identifying what makes you as an individual athletically successful, and more importantly, addressing the areas that could help you achieve more as an athlete are the crucial elements to the Combine360 program.

IMPROVEMENT HAS NO BARRIERSThis guide is intended to help explain testing, which tests you undergo and how your score can change your athletic outlook and training. Offered at two levels of analysis: Combine60 (athleticism, movement and character) and Combine360 MAX (advanced elements), the Combine360 program will change athletic measurement and potential as it is currently known. The Combine360 testing program is being offered to athletes at combines across the country, which allows for score comparison and inspiration for improvement.

Created by IMG Performance experts in conjunction with Under Armour, the revolutionary Combine360 program sets the global measurement standard for comprehensive athletic assessment and improved sports performance, health and fitness. By measuring and recording sport-specific physical ability, mental aptitude, nutrition level, communicative skill and a variety of other key athletic traits, Combine360 provides a platform for comparison to other athletes from around the world by age, sport and position, and helps develop a plan for overall athletic advancement.

What is Combine360?

The Combine360 measurement identifies fundamental athletic ability, sports performance movement and elements of character considered important for performance. Your athletic ability is measured on general physical ability and integrative movement, while also testing your general vision, athletic mental state, nutrition level and awareness of your communication skills.

What’s your score?

The basis of the Combine360 measurement revolves around what characteristics the ultimate athlete would exhibit, so achieving a perfect score is virtually impossible. Rather than focus solely on your score, use the percentile given to you after the testing to see how you compare to other athletes in your sport, age group and gender. Your score also gives you a baseline idea of where you can improve as an athlete by identifying your strengths and weaknesses. The main goal of the Combine360 program is to help reach your peak as an athlete!

What will you be tested on?

1. Foundational Athleticism measure nine athletic elements common across most sports including power, speed, strength, endurance and flexibility.

2. Sport Specific Movement features three physical tests that best determine an athlete’s ability for that particular sport.

3. Integrative Movement measures how well your body’s nervous system interacts with muscles and movement to create balance and posture.

4. Visual Ability measure the six main movements performed by the eyes  – left, right, up, down, near and far.

5, 6 and 7. Questionnaires targeting diet quality, how your mind reacts during competition and communication with others helps determine mental, nutrition and communication levels.

For students attending the Academy, we have the opportunity to give them a more advanced and in-depth evaluation through Combine360 MAX. The Combine360 MAX consists of the Combine360 testing elements, plus:

The score achieved in the MAX disciplines of communication, nutrition, mentality, vision and musc-skeletal are in the form of a letter grade for each discipline.

MAX MOVEMENT is an advanced muscular-skeletal assessment that looks at strength and range of motion at joints across the body. A further in-depth study of an athlete’s visual system is assessed including reaction times, hand-eye coordination, visual memory and concentration.

MAX CHARACTER allows experts, rather than the athlete themselves, to assess traits like body composition, mentality and communication while the athlete goes through the Combine360 tests. An overall grade point average is created to provide a total Combine360 MAX grade. A grade for each of the five disciplines is also provided to give the participant more specific and advanced feedback on their performance.
