Curriculum Guide II AP Courses II
The IMG Pendleton High School is an academically rigorous, dynamic, diverse, college preparatory division that supports the development of a community that values curiosity. In the High School, students encounter a traditional curriculum with many opportunities for choice and individualized work in academics, the arts, and physical education. Students must fulfill departmental prerequisites and make specific academic progress before Honors or Advanced Placement opportunities are made available to them. An advisor or counselor will guide each student in making the most appropriate choices.
English, History, Foreign Languages, Math, and Science are considered core courses. Of these, ninth graders, sophomores, and juniors usually take five per semester, and seniors are strongly recommended to continue to take five academic subjects so as to round out their academic profile. Seniors must also consult with the registrar and their college counselor.
We offer an intensive academic program that works in conjunction with the athletic development schedules at the IMG Academies. Depending on the sport into which the student is enrolled, s/he will be placed into our AM academic program (7:20am – 12:25pm), or PM academic program (1:15pm – 6:20pm). Students in both programs have the opportunity to receive additional faculty assistance during the hours of 7:00pm – 8:30pm, Monday – Thursday.
Advanced Placement Courses
We offer 8 college-level Advanced Placement courses, including:
| AP English Language & Composition | AP English Literature |
| AP Calculus AB | AP Statistics |
| AP Biology | AP Chinese Language & Culture |
| AP Environmental Science | AP United States History |
AP classes are offered to students who are motivated and capable of succeeding in college-level courses. Advanced Placement weight and transcript designation will appear after the completion of the AP examination for the course.
Those IMG students who earn AP examination scores of three or higher (out of a possible five), might be eligible to receive college credit or waive required college courses in the subject area covered by the AP exam. Students are encouraged to consult with their college counselor.

The IMG College Planning and Placement Center works with all students including post-graduates to create an individualized roadmap to reach their goal of studying and playing their sport at the collegiate level. This work begins upon a student’s entry into high school (grade 9) and incorporates families, coaches, and university admissions and athletic staff in their efforts.
