Philosophy

The IMG Pendleton School guides the development of the total student-athlete. It provides a rigorous academic atmosphere with dedicated faculty and staff that are the cornerstones of a supportive community in which students can grow into independent learners. We integrate an international student body, teaching tolerance and empathy, molding leaders for the global environment of the twenty-first century. We instill a balance between academics and athletics that teaches students time management, endurance, self-confidence, and diligence, and commitment to achievement in all arenas that promote the character that will help a student grow in mind and body.

We, the IMG Pendleton School faculty and staff, feel as though we are entrusted with the responsibility of mentoring students through a difficult undertaking. We are here to teach our specialties and develop a rapport with students in order to guide them towards balancing academics and athletics. The endurance that student-athletes must sustain throughout the year is difficult. Thus, we provide a positive, motivating, safe environment in which students can learn about their own character as well as how to learn for themselves.

The faculty provokes curiosity to maintain students’ interest, provides multiple methods of information delivery to individualize the learning process, and contextualizes the knowledge for practical applications as well as further education in college. The hallmark of an IMG Pendleton School education is the ability to analyze information, applying critical-thinking skills to information in order to learn in a way that suits the individual student’s needs.

The faculty and staff of The IMG Pendleton School work in conjunction with the parents, administrators, athletic and performance coaches, dorm mentors, and student services staff members to provide an environment conducive to learning, playing, and living the life of ‘the total student-athlete.’ Each part of the IMG Academies community interacts with each other to aid the best interests of the student-athlete.
