A total of 30 players qualified for The European Tour Qualifying School’s Second Stage from Golf Schloss Ebreichsdorf in Austria, with 11 players finishing in a tie for the all-important nine under par qualification cut-off.
Josh Habig of the USA eased his way to the top of the leaderboard with a fourth round 67 to finish on 20 under for the week, one ahead of Denmark’s Daniel Slott Mogensen.
A further 17 players finished on ten under or better to guarantee their places in Stage Two, the stand out performance coming from Argentina’s Emiliano Grillo, whose nine under par final round of 63 saw him surge through the field to qualification safety.
That left the rest of the field racing to finish on the magic number of nine under to secure a share of 20th spot and win a potentially priceless ticket to Second Stage.
In the end, there were eleven players tied on nine under, including Austrian amateur Robin Goger and Italy’s Andrea Signor, who fired a brilliant seven under par 65 under the most intense pressure to make the grade.
