The IMG Basketball Academy provides the most detailed and comprehensive on-court and off-court preparation for the NBA draft available in the world. This program is available to draft-eligible college and international players, as well as draft-eligible high school graduates (must be one year removed from graduation). 
 
Over the last three years, over two dozen NBA first-round and second-round picks have worked with the IMG Basketball Academy staff in their NBA pre-draft preparation.

Draft eligible players use the IMG Basketball Academy as their home base throughout the pre-draft process. Whether preparing for the Porstmouth Invitational in April, the NBA pre-draft combine in June, or for individual workouts with NBA teams leading up to the draft, our staff provides guidance and support through draft night and into the NBA summer leagues. 

With so much on the line in the critical time window, players and families need the confidence that they put themselves in the best professional hands to lay the foundation for success in their pro basketball careers. Once on campus, players can rest easy knowing that every professional, personal, and medical need can be taken care of within the four walls of the IMG Basketball Academy.

Program Features / Facilities:

  • Two on-court, position-specific and NBA-specific basketball skills workouts per day
  • One athletic performance workout per day under the supervision of the IMG Performance Institute
  • Nutritional education and monitoring throughout the pre-draft process
  • IMGA’s Mental Conditioning Division – to prepare players for the draft training process, the NBA Draft Combine and NBA team workouts and interviews.
  • game on – our world-renowned interpersonal communication program to assist players with team interviews and media training
  • State-of-the-art Basketball Center – Two NBA Regulation Full Courts (12 Baskets and teaching stations)
  • World-class 15,000 square foot athletic performance center / weight room
  • On-campus athletic training center with full-time staff
  • On-campus sports therapy / physical therapy clinic with full-time staff
  • On-campus Wellness Spa – sports and deep tissue massage and full body treatments available
  • On-campus medical clinic with full-time doctor and nursing staff
  • On-campus dining room – meals nutritionally planned for sports performance
  • Multiple hi-tech meeting rooms
  • Video taping / editing / analysis
  • 24-hour campus security – no public or media access without permission
  • Airport transportation to Sarasota/Bradenton Airport (SRQ) provided as available – arrivals and departures
