Annual Highlights
2011
- IMG Baseball Academy alum Tyler Pastornicky made is Big League debut for the Atlanta Braves. Pastornicky is slated to be the Braves opening day starting SS in 2012.
- IMG Baseball Academy alum J.R. Murphy was named the #9 Prospect in the New York Yankees organization by Baseball America. Murphy was named a South Atlantic League All Star in 2011 before being promoted to the Yankees High A affiliate in Tampa.
- IMG Baseball Academy alum Chris Perez was named to the American League All Star Team representing the Cleveland Indians.
- Three IMG Baseball Academy alumni competed in NCAA Regional and Super Regional play: LJ Mazzilli, son of Lee Mazzilli, from UConn, Dillon Moyer, son of Jamie Moyer, from UC Irvine, and Jimmy O’Neil from Stetson University
- Three IMG Baseball Academy players were selected in the MLB Draft. Brandon Bonilla, a left handed pitcher and son of former major leaguer Bobby Bonilla, was drafted by the Colorado Rockies. Matt Martin, a catcher, was drafted by the Boston Red Sox. Charles Sheffield, a first baseman, was selected by the Oakland Athletics. All three student-athletes decided to attend school at Arizona State, Wake Forest, and Georgia Tech, respectively.
- The Varsity IMG Baseball team finished the season 19-6, highlighted by a 6-5 win against St. Johns’s College HS from Washington DC to take home the championship at the Hall of Fame Classic.
- The Junior Varsity IMG Baseball team finished the season with a record of 19-3
- Senior/Post Graduate student-athletes signed with some of the nation’s top schools including Arizona State University, University of San Francisco, Georgia Tech University, Wake Forest University, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and others.
- IMG Wood Bat Leagues (summer 2011) gathers 150+ of the nation’s most dedicated players. The Marauders, led by IMGA’s Pete Paciorek, won their second consecutive HS Wood Bat League Championship.
- In the summer of 2011, the 14U Wood Bat League made its debut. The Tarpons captured the championship in the 14U inaugural season.
- IMG HS WBL honors: Overall MVP – Mike Roberts. Defensive Co-MVPs – Eddie Herbst and Tyler Biggs. Batting Title Champion – Joey Pinney. Cy Young Award – Gabe Von Rosenberg. Championship MVP – Gabe Von Rosenberg
- IMG 14U WBL honors: Co-MVP – Logan Allen, Co-MVP – Jackson Smith, Defensive MVP – Chase Lorenz, Batting Title Champion – Jackson Smith, Cy Young Award – Logan Allen. Team MVP awards were given to John Lamb of the Royals, Logan Allen of the Storm, Jackson Smith of the Wahoo, Hudson Haskin of the Ospreys, Justin Rounik of the Buccaneers, and Teddy Herman of the Tarpons.
2010
- Received preseason top-10 national ranking from Perfect Game USA (#8) and top-25 national ranking from (MaxPreps (#16) and Easton Sports National High School Poll (#25).
- Six IMG Baseball Academy varsity players named to Rawlings Preseason All-American/All-Region teams (Michael Bradshaw, Dillon Moyer, Casey Mulholland, Jimmy O’Neill, Gavin Patton, Blake Perry).
- Senior/post-grad student-athletes signed with some of the nation’s top schools, including Harvard University, Stetson University, University of California-Irvine, University of Kentucky (two players),
- University of Maryland, University of Mississippi and others. Dillon Moyer, a shortstop and son of MLB pitcher Jamie Moyer, drafted by the Minnesota Twins.Blake Perry, a right-handed pitcher, drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
- Rising seniors Tanner Pollack and Brandon Bonilla chosen to participate in Area Code Baseball Games, one of the nation’s elite prep baseball showcases.
- IMG Wood Bat League (summer 2010) gathers 100+ of the nation’s most dedicated players. Marauders used a dominating regular season (20-3 record) to roll through the playoffs and win the championship.
- IMG WBL honors: MVP – Randy Tallhammer. Defensive Player of the Year – Nick DiBenedetto. Batting Title – Luke Miller. Pitcher of the Year – Phillip Dilandro. Championship MVP – Danny Lee, Jr.
2009
- IMG Baseball Academy varsity team went 29-1, ranked as high as #6 in one national poll.
- The varsity team won all four tournaments entered, including the Westminster National Classic. John Ryan Murphy won tournament MVP in all four tournaments.
- John Ryan Murphy was named a First Team All American by MaxPreps.com, Second Team All American by Baseball America, and Second Team All American by EA Sports.
- IMG Baseball Academy junior varsity team finished the spring season with a 13-10 record.
- 114 high school athletes participated in the 2009 IMG Wood Bat League. The IMG Hurricanes, coached by former Major League Pitcher Steve Frey, won the 2009 title with a 3-0 win over the IMG Ospreys.
- IMG Wood Bat League awards winners include Ben Johnson, League MVP, Angel Garcia and Michael Suchy, Gold Glove, Shay Mlakar, Batting Title, and Cas Dean, Cy Young award.
- IMG Baseball Academy graduate, John Ryan Murphy, was selected by the New York Yankees in the 2nd round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
- IMG Baseball Academy graduate, Blaze Tart, was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 33 round of the MLB First-Year Player Draft.
- 11 out of the 12 seniors have moved on to play at the college or professional level.
- 6 out of the 7 post graduates have moved on to play at the college level.
- IMG Baseball Academy student, Casey Mulholland, competed in the Under Armour All American Game.
- IMG Baseball Academy student, Dillon Moyer, was selected to compete in the Area Code Games.
- IMG Baseball Academy graduate, Paolo Espino, competed in the World Baseball Classic for the Panama national team.
2008
- The Varsity team finishes the spring with a record of 24 – 6.
- The Junior Varsity team finishes the season with a record of 11 – 9.
- 54 high school athletes participated in the 2008 Baseball Academy Summer League. The Steve Frey coached Red Team won the 2008 title 4-0 over Bayshore in the 8-team summer league
- Alumnus Chris Perez made his MLB debut in 2008 with the St. Louis Cardinals
- The Pendleton School Senior Tyler Pastornicky was selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 5th round of the MLB June Amateur draft
- IMG Baseball Academy senior Kyle Allen was selected by the New York Mets in the 24th round of the MLB June Amateur draft
2007
- Sports Illustrated for Kids votes the IMG Baseball Academy as the top baseball camp.
- The Varsity team finished the spring season with a record of 19 – 8.
- The JV team finished the spring season with a record of 19 – 1.
- 145 college athletes will participate in the 2007 FCIL Wood Bat League.
- 46 high school students will participate in the 2007 IMG Baseball Academy Summer League.
2006
- 28 college and 25 high school baseball programs conducted their spring training at the IMG Baseball Academy.
- The Varsity team finished the spring season with a record of 19 – 7.
- The JV team finished the spring season with a record of 18-4.
- 132 college athletes from 70 colleges and universities participated in the FCIL.
- Baseball Academy students J.R. Murphy and Casey Mullholland led their AAU 14&Under team to the 2006 National Championship, compiling a 10 – 0 record against the 68-team field.
- J.R. Murphy was selected to the 14&Under AAU National All-Tournament team and the 14&Under All-American team.
- Paolo Espino, a full-time student at the time, attended the World Baseball Classic as part of the Panama National Team. He was also drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 10th round of the MLB Amateur Draft.
- Alumnus Chris Perez was drafted in the first round, number 42 overall, by the St. Louis Cardinals.
2005
- J.B. Tucker, F.C.I.L. Alumnus and former Full Time student, signed as a free agent with the Seattle Mariners
- Alex Jamieson, F.C.I.L. Alumnus and former Full Time student, signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays
- Phil Carey, Pendleton Baseball Graduate, Drafted in the 25th Round by the Toronto Blue Jays. He was also a member of the 2005 Canadian Junior National Team.
- 16 Former IMG Baseball Academy program participants were drafted in the MLB Draft.
- Chris Perez, IMG Baseball Academy Graduate, makes the 2005 Team U.S.A. Roster
- Over 120 college athletes from 70 colleges and universities reported to play in the Florida Collegiate Instructional League(F.C.I.L.)
- IMG Baseball Academy varsity team wins the 2005 Tony Saladino Prep Tournament
- 42 top college teams from around the country and 22 high school teams trained on the IMG Academies campus and played over 200 highly competitive games in preparation for their 2005 baseball seasons.
2004
- 11 Former IMG Baseball Academy program participants were drafted in the MLB Draft
- Over 115 college athletes from 65 colleges and universities reported to play in the Florida Collegiate Instructional League (F.C.I.L)
- 35 top college teams from around the country and 18 high school teams trained on the IMG Academies campus and played over 175 highly competitive games in preparation for their 2004 baseball seasons.
2003
- Brad Snyder, F.C.I.L. Alumni, was picked in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians
- 16 former IMG Baseball Academy program participants were drafted in the MLB Draft
- Over 110 college athletes from 60 colleges and universities reported to play in the Florida Collegiate Instructional League (F.C.I.L.)
- Pendleton baseball graduate, Chris Perez, signed to play at the University of Miami
- 32 top college teams from around the country and 15 high school teams trained on the IMG Academies campus and played over 150 highly competitve games in preparation for their 2003 baseball seasons.
2002
- 13 former IMG Baseball Academy program participants were drafted in the MLB Draft
- Over 105 college athletes from 55 colleges and universities reported to play in the Florida Collegiate Instructional League (F.C.I.L.)
- 28 top college teams from around the country and 12 high school teams trained on the IMG Academies campus and played over 125 highly competitive games in preparation for their 2002 baseball seasons.
2001
- John Vanbenschoten, F.C.I.L. Alumni, was picked in the first round of the MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates
- 4 former IMG Baseball Academy program participants were drafted in the MLB Draft
- Over 80 college athletes from 40 colleges and universities reported to play in the inaugural season of the Florida Collegiate Instructional League (F.C.I.L.)
- 20 top college teams from around the country and 8 high school teams trained on the IMG Academies campus and played over 100 highly competitive games in preparation for their 2001 baseball seasons.
2000
- 7 former IMG Baseball Academy program participants were drafted in the MLB Draft
- Over 50 college athletes from 25 colleges and universities reported to play summer ball at the Baseball Academy
- 10 top college teams from around the country and 6 high school teams trained on the IMG Academies campus and played over 70 highly competitive games in preparation for their 2000 baseball seasons.
- 17 major league athletes trained at the Baseball Academy prior to spring training including: Derek Jeter, Gary Sheffield, Pat Burrell, Vernon Wells, Kevin Millar, Ben Sheets, Roberto Alomar and Mike Cuddyer.
1999

- Lance Neikro, Baseball Academy alumni, wins the 1999 Cape Cod League MVP
- Daiksu Kojima becomes the first Baseball Academy trained Japanese native to sign a professional contract in Japan

Every offseason, many of the top MLB, NCAA and high school baseball teams travel to Florida for the mix of immaculate weather and ideal training. With 3 full-size diamonds, 2 infield training diamonds, multiple batting cages and practice mounds, pitcher-simulation machine and the sport’s top video analysis program, the IMG Baseball Academy has all of the tools to help players at every position and any age group.
Since 2006 Jason’s off-field tasks include operational issues such as marketing, sales, scheduling, and contracting as well as a focus on revenue generation. He is currently the coach of the Varsity Team and he is also Commissioner of the Wood Bat Leagues. His on field duties include working with the outfielders, hitters, and baserunners. Jason is a proven leader of successful baseball players at all levels and excels at teaching the game the right way with passion and consistency. Jason received his BA in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College and a MBA in Marketing from Youngstown State University.
