IMG Academies Parents' Weekend
IMG Academies would like to invite you to the 2009 Parent's Weekend. The events will take place the weekend of October 15-18th, 2009. The weekend is full of social events, fun games, workshops and much more! We hope you will be able to join us for the weekend. Below you will find the schedule of events for each day.
Thursday, October 15th
7:20am-5:30pm - Parents visit student's classes and their sport program

Dinner - At Country Club all inclusive $25 - Traditional Turkey Dinner Buffet with optional BINGO to follow
Friday, October 16th
7:20am-5:30pm - Parents visit student's classes and their sport program

6:30-8:30pm - Reception with heavy hors d’oeuvres and dessert for parents, students, coaches, faculty and staff at the IMG Academies Country Club
9:00pm - First run movie for students and parents shown on the big screen at the soccer field. (Seating will be in the bleachers or bring your blanket and sit on the field. Light refreshments available)
Saturday, October 17th

9:00am – 12:00pm - Parent Workshops (each session listed below will last 45 minutes and will repeat at 9:00am, 10:00am and 11:00am)

- NCAA eligibility requirements
- International Performance Institute programs overview
- Health Services – swine flu questions and answers
- College planning timeline
- Excelling in academic and sport with a learning difference
- Pendleton graduates talk about the transition to college or the professional sport circuit
- Campus psychologist discusses student self esteem and meeting parent expectations
- How to access student’s daily academic progress in My Backpack
- Technologies in the classroom at Pendleton
- A day at IMG Academies questions and answers

10:00am – 5:00pm Sport times
- Baseball – 1:00pm game at Academy Park
- Soccer – Games at 10:00am, 12:00 & 1:00pm
- Basketball – Intersquad scrimmage at 1:00pm- 3:30pm with coach’s discussion to follow
- Golf - Short Game or Full Swing Clinic from 1:00pm to 2:30. Space is limited – please sign up in advance. Meet with your child’s coach by appointment only or play 18 holes at IMG Academies Golf & Country Club. For Tee Times call 941-758-1464. Please identify yourself as parents to receive the IMGA family discount. The morning rate is $35.00 plus tax and after 2:30 pm the rate is $31.50 plus tax – per person including cart. All families of any sport are welcome to golf.
- Tennis – All weekend, The Angela Maria Lopera Tournament (USTA). 350 athletes from near and far will play on the IMGA campus throughout the weekend

7:00pm – 10:00pm - IMGA Fiesta Block Party for parents, students, families, coaches, faculty and staff

Sunday, October 18th

9:00am – 12:00pm - Dorm staff mentors available to meet with parents
Soccer Games - 9am, 11am, 1pm, and 3pm

Adult Programs and Activities
Not only does IMG Academies offer world class training for your junior athlete, we also have many exciting options for parents!
Parents of “Full- Timers” get to take advantage of our special tiered local rates for adults (Rates effective now through the end of October).
- ½ day Golf Program: $150.00
- ½ day Tennis Program: $110.00
- ½ day Performance Program: $175.00
- 1 hour Deep Tissue Massage: $100.00 (The spa has many other options to choose from)

Our full-service Aveda Wellness Spa is offering 20 percent off any products purchased during Parents’ Weekend. You can also book any of these two services (or the same one twice) for $75.

Don’t leave campus without some IMG Academies apparel to commemorate your trip. The newly remodeled IMG Sport Shop has select merchandise marked anywhere from 10% to 75% off, with buy-one, get-one deals also available.
