International Students English Programs
The University of Miami at IMG Academies offers a variety of English language programs to suit your needs. If you want to join a class or if you prefer private instruction we can help you improve your English skills.
- Small classes ensure each student has the opportunity to receive the instruction and attention needed to progress to the best of his or her ability.
- Faculty hold advanced degrees in TESOL and Applied Linguistics and specialization in student learning.
- Individualized ESL lab component allows students to focus on and get extra practice in different skill areas.
- Special events and activities enhance students’ cultural learning experiences.
The Intensive English Program is a rigorous academic course of study designed to prepare students for success in schools, colleges, and professional programs in the United States. The IEP requires an F-1 student visa or US citizenship or permanent resident status. It is open to school-age students and adults with academic goals. The Weekly ESL Program is designed for all ages of students visiting Bradenton for a short time on visitor’s visas. It helps students develop English skills for everyday communications. Students do not need to be enrolled for a sport at IMG Academies; however, IMG Academies’ English + Sports program combines Weekly ESL with a half day of sports training at a packaged price.
Many Summer English Programs are offered at the University of Miami at IMG Academies. The Summer English program is designed for students 10-17 year olds and is available June through August. It includes three hours of English instruction per day, with or without a sport enrollment at IMG Academies. The ELL+ Sport program is a fulltime, five week academic English program for middle and high school students. Five week sessions start in mid-June and mid-July. Summer Intensive English is a 10 week program available from May to July for students with academic English goals, and is available for students with or without a sport enrollment at IMG Academies.
Private English Lessons are available for any student. Students are paired with an ESL professional to meet a specific language learning focus like accent reduction, business or survival English or conversation and fluency practice.

Summer Camps: Active English!
The Active English program combines a half-day of traditional classroom instruction at the University of Miami with a half-day of entertaining and interactive language immersion activities provided by IMG Academies’ creative communication program – game on! Active English is designed for students ages 10-17 who want to have fun, learn English, and experience American Culture. The weekly Active English program includes:
- Three hours of English every afternoon
- Three hours of game on activities every morning
- One theme park trip for each week the student is here (Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Universal Studios)
